Dina Manzo's Hairstyle

Dina Manzo is a reality television personality. She was featured on 'The Real Housewives of New Jersey' until she left the show in the middle of the second season. She lives with her family in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey.

Dina Manzo is an interior decorator and also the founder of the non-profit organization, Project Ladybug.

We were looking back at photos of Dina and noticed this one from the 'My Hero Gala' in New York.  Dina Manzo looked lovely in a mid-length layered hairstyle.

More than a milkmaid braid

A plain, unornamented milkmaid braid is enough of a hairstyle outing for most people. But for a creative designer mind like Erin Fetherston’s, there’s a little more to be done with it.

Entwined with strands of rope and secured with many a pin into a roll at the back, it’s a braid that – especially when paired with floating white pleats – ends up feeling more Midsummer Night’s Dream than it does milkmaid.

Erin wears her braid with an equally as impacty thick, blunt cut fringe.

How to: futuristic hair at David Koma

David Koma’s spring 2012 collection was based on 
the idea of a futuristic tribe. It consisted of a monochromatic pallette with flashes of colour such as hot pink and turquoise. It also combined textures such as matte vs shiny created with the use of reflective perspex; while the prints seen throughout the collection were bold and geometric.

To compliment this, the hair followed the futuristic tribal feel with a new spin on the ponytail. It stemmed from 8 diamond sections that all linked together with geometry and precision. I caught up with GHD Creative Director, Kenna, backstage who created this striking look.

Here’s how the GHD hair team created the look:

Prep the hair with GHD Heat Protect Spray and GHD Straight and Smooth Cream. Blowdry hair smooth and straight, then go over the hair with GHD Max Styler and GHD straight and smooth spray.

From middle of forehead take a diamond back section ending an inch below the crown and slick back using GHD Final Fix Spray and GHD Grooming Brush and secure using elastic, going around 2-3 times to keep flat to the head.

From top of the ear to side point of diamond, create another section, divide away a small section from this from the mid recession diagonal back.

From the back of the earlobe, take a diagonal section to the centre back point of the diamond section and create the samson the other side.

For all sections use GHD Final Fix Spray and comb tight so partings between sections are clean and visible. All sections are put in small ponytails with a few loops of elastic and kept flat to the head.

With remaining hair from ponytails, join the ponytails together to make a bridge, spraying to keep the sections together. Upper sections will join into the main ponytail, one at the top of the crown.

Join to the lower sections at the occipital bone, creating one ponytail with the hair underneath left long and straight.

If you are a tanned or dark skinned person, the laser can cause blistering or permanent discoloration. Consult with a practitioner or dermatologist about rather or not you are a good candidate. Laser hair removal is also the most expensive form of hair removal. Each session will cost a few hundred dollars. However, when you use this method, once the hair is gone, it’s gone.

Finally, you can use tweezers, trimmers, and just old fashion shaving to remove that unwanted genital hair. With tweezers, you will need to invest a massive amount of time and this is of course far from permanent. Save the tweezers for small areas such as that uni-brow. Many men opt to use the trimmers and go for a close trim without the ingrown hairs and razor burn associated with shaving. Shaving is also a viable option employed by both men and women. If one goes about it the right way, and does it often shaving can be an inexpensive way to make sure that your genital area is clean and smooth.

The most beautiful vintage hairdo!

What a selection of gorgeous vintage brides we are having this week! Shot by the talented duo Cathy and David, this bride is all about vintage glam – where was she when I was planning my own wedding?
